Brenda is the owner / founder of Einstein’s Costume and Prop Rental. She has always loved
vintage clothing, history, and antiques. Being the 10th child out of eleven, the words “hand-
me-downs” meant she was going to get some cool stuff to wear or play dress-up with.
In 1986 Brenda opened Brenda’s Second Hand and her love of clothing was shared with
hundreds of customers. As time went by the store grew and so did her collection of vintage
clothing.
By the late 1990’s, the second hand store had evolved into the Antique Mall. Brenda and
husband Dan were busy volunteering their time setting up props, costuming plays, parades,
style shows, and numerous other events. As more and more people discovered her
collection she was so busy more staff was hired in order to keep up with the volunteer work.
In the beginning there were no rules, no fees, and unfortunately no respect for the clothing.
Often items would get “lost” or destroyed. Brenda’s hobby just wasn’t fun anymore. At this
point Brenda & Dan looked at two options, sell it all or make some rules and do this costume
thing as a full time, full service business.
Since selling her collection really wasn’t an option, Einstein’s Costumes and Prop Rental
became official.
Einstein's’s is continually growing and expanding. More vintage and new items are acquired
daily and an additional 5,000 square feet of show floor was opened this year.
Brenda doesn’t feel she rents costumes, she rents fun.
